History
Sheldahl Crossing was the name given to a settlement of business owners who moved one mile north of Sheldahl, Iowa in order to set up shop at the crossroads of two intersecting railroads. A small town grew around the new mercantile area which later was renamed Slater. The owners of Sheldahl Crossing are descendants of the original founders of this central Iowa community. In the Spring of 2011, the owners of Sheldahl Crossing decided to return to their roots and open an antique and collectible store with a coffee shop on the grounds of the original mercantile settlement, which is also the current downtown. Today, the area of Slater, where we run our store, is known as the Sheldahl Crossing subdivision. We are housed in a newly renovated historic building in the Slater business district. And we can tell you that it's good to be back home. Centrally located between Des Moines, Ames, and Boone, Iowa, we are here for your antique & collectible needs
