St. Patrick Catholic Church is the oldest parish in Black Hawk county, having been organized in 1854. The parish's first building was built on the donated land at 8th and Washington streets. The Catholic parish is now located on the corner of 7th and Main in downtown Cedar Falls and is led by Father Everett Hemann. The church offers many opportunities for service work in the community and support of others, helping agencies through financial and volunteer support. Examples include: the birthright program, crisis response, Habitat for Humanitiy, Community Meals and others. There are also opportunities for service work within the church, such as lectors, servers, ushers and more. Part of the St. Patrick's parish is the St. Patrick Catholic School at 615 Washington Street in Cedar Falls.
