History
I am a Board Certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist licensed in the State of Iowa. I went to school for four years (post-graduate) to learn Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture. My training included over 900 hours of clinical practice in addition to classroom instruction. I graduated from Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago/Evanston with a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine combined with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition. During my clinical experience in Chicago, I assessed and treated a wide variety of ailments and gained valuable experience. After passing the boards and becoming licensed in 2016, I started practicing by renting space from other practitioners. In 2019, I decided to open my own clinic, and here I am! I've been the proud owner of Peaceful Acupuncture since November of 2019.
Specialties
Acupuncture has existed for thousands of years. Though no one really knows quite how or why it works (in scientific terms), anyone can experience its benefits. Tiny needles inserted at specific points in the body can help your body to heal naturally, without drugs or harmful side-effects. In addition, treatments usually increase energy, enhance mental clarity, provide better sleep and improve your mood. Pain management is one of the most well-known reasons to try acupuncture. However, there are so many other ways acupuncture can help. Due to the pandemic, you may find yourself more anxious, depressed, worried or stressed. Acupuncture can help with mental health and well-being. In addition, there have been many scientific studies done proving that acupuncture can boost immune function.
