The PACE Juvenile Center began as an alternative school for teenagers in 1983. Located in Des Moines, Iowa, the center serves more than 2,500 youths and adults. It offers individualized programs that strengthen the family and involve youths in the community. The PACE Juvenile Center provides academic, counseling, and tracking and monitoring programs. The center s day program serves middle and high school students experiencing social, behavioral and emotional problems. Its programs include a variety of afternoon, evening and weekend programs. The PACE Juvenile Center also offers independent living skills and assistance with enrollment in post-secondary education. The center s Outreach Program is an in-home counseling service that provides individual and family counseling and skill development services.
