The Italian-American Cultural Center of Iowa conducts various charitable, educational and cultural activities for the welfare of the Italian-American community. It promotes the Italian heritage and culture through its museum, library, dance and cook book services. The center s museum hosts authentic Italian displays and several annual events and classes. Its library facility offers a variety of books, magazines, recipes, customs, movies and travel information catalogs. The center is affiliated with the Italian Folk Art Federation of America. Its dancers attend the annual conferences that are held in the United States and Canada. The center s Valerie Lacona Genealogy branch provides maps, books, photographs, family tree databases, translation guides, Italian form letters, birth and death records, census records, membership rosters and Italian history manuscripts for research. The Italian-American Cultural Center is located in Des Moines, Iowa.
