Workforce Development Center conducts conduct in-person appeal hearings for individuals. It is a part of Iowa Workforce Development, a government agency that works for providing employment skills development and job placement services. The agency creates resources and related services for employers, employees and unemployed individuals to enable them to take control of their economic future and the security of their families. It maintains a statewide system of employment services, as well as educational, health, safety and employment laws. Iowa Workforce Development is responsible for the enforcement of programs designed to protect the safety, health and economic security of all Iowans though its labor services division. Additionally, it provides consulting services to employers on occupational safety health compliance and maintains statistical information on workers illnesses and injuries.
