Mount Ayr Community School District, school district serves some 4,200 residents who live in Ringgold and Taylor Counties, including the towns of Redding, Delphos, Kellerton, Maloy, Benton, Tingley, Ellston, Beaconsfield and Mount Ayr in Iowa. Located in Mount Ayr, Iowa, it is a rural district that was formed after re-organization in 1958. The more than 330 square miles of territory ranks the district as one of the largest in the state. The Mount Ayr Community School District owns and maintains two physical plants with equipment and facilities that include buildings, sites and equipment. The schools also offer a variety of sports activities, such as track, football, softball and baseball. The district has more than 60 teachers in grades kindergarten through 12 and has an enrollment of more than 600 students.
