The Eastern Iowa Regional Housing Authority was established and created as a regional housing authority in 1978 to serve Cedar, Clinton, Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson and Jones counties in eastern Iowa. It provides affordable rental housing for eligible families and promotes self-sufficiency, economic independence and homeownership opportunities for housing choice voucher participants and public housing residents. It owns and manages more than 160 public housing units. These public housing units include apartments, duplexes and single-family homes for low-income families, senior citizens and people with disabilities. It administers the Family Self-Sufficiency program, which assists residents in finding employment, analyzing and organizing finances, rebuilding credits, developing resumes and connecting with social service agencies. The Eastern Iowa Regional Housing Authority is located in Dubuque, Iowa.
