History
The Brenton Arboretum was inspired by a deep love for trees and a passion for their importance in our world. Founders Buz and Sue Brenton, and their children, created the Arboretum as a place to restore and preserve natural Iowa landscaped and to celebrate the trees of our world. Today, the Arboretum is engaged in education, research, conservation, restoration and woody plant collection and display. It is a non-profit institution governed by a volunteer board of directors. Exploring and observing the natural world is a year-round activity here with each season possessing its own unique beauty.
