HistoryIn 1979 my father (Randy Karsjens) opened Backyard Body and Paint at this very location. After a few years he closed the shop and went on to manage some of the larger shops in Des Moines. In 1995 he purchased East Green Collision Center in Winterset Iowa. I worked for him until 2008 at which time I pursued a career in law enforcement. Randy passed away in 2011 and I purchased his acreage on his estate sale. I shortly left on my 4th deployment and upon my return in 2013, I decided to re-open Backyard Body and Paint in homage to my father.
