Geminus Head Start XXI is a comprehensive interdisciplinary, preschool child development program for children and their family members. It serves more than 1,000 children between the ages of three to five throughout Lake and Porter counties in Indiana. The program also serves preschool children with diagnosed disabilities. Geminus Head Start XXI conducts classes in science, literacy, math, housekeeping, hand coordination, puzzle and structure building, as well as in creative arts, such as drama and play. It offers lunch and provides transportation services to children. The program operates over 25 classroom sites in Gary, Hammond, Merrillville, Hobart, Cedar Lake, Lowell, Hebron, Portage, Chesterton, Valparaiso and East Chicago, Ind.
