The Johnson County Sheriff's Office is a law enforcement agency that works to protect the lives and properties of citizens. It serves more than 121,000 residents in an area of over 300 square miles. The office employs nearly 40 correctional officers and staff members. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office operates a jail that can comprise more than 290 inmates. Its investigation division that obtains, examines and stores evidences. The office also has a communication division that answers various emergency calls and radio transmissions. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office has K-9, horse patrol, explosive ordinance disposal, motorcycle and hostage negotiation units, as well as Special Weapons and Tactics Team. It is a part of The Cyber Sub-Station of Johnson County in Indiana.
