The Clerk's Office is responsible for the preparation, recording and maintenance of court documents to assist Judges in the execution of their judicial duties. The office provides case-related information to the state, local and federal agencies. It maintains a civil division that is responsible for protective orders, felonies, juvenile cases, adoptions and paternity suits. The Clerk's Office maintains a small claims division, as well as provides online voter registration services. The office is governed by Monroe County in Indiana, which administers building, health, highway, legal, planning, and parks and recreation departments. Monroe County s government maintains probation and human resources departments.
