Hartke Insurance was started in 1948 by C.W. Hartke of Evansville, Indiana. He went door to door, offering Fire Insurance Policies for about $12.00 per year. He would huddle around a client’s coal furnace to keep warm, talking about what could happen if those coal embers were to start a fire on the rug or a chimney fire if the furnace became too hot. A lot has changed through the years. Although we no longer go door to door, we still operate as small family owned business. We help each other and care about our customers.
