Dr. Michele Stookey is an Indiana native, and she attended Indiana University in Bloomington and Indiana University School of Medicine. While in medical school, she decided to specialize in family medicine as it allowed her to treat people, not just illnesses, and to help individuals live a healthier life. She completed her residency at Community Health Network, where she served as chief resident. Following residency, she started a medical practice on the near eastside of Indianapolis. After eight years of practice, Dr. Stookey joined Family Medicine and Pediatric Care, Geist, to be closer to home. Dr. Stookey is board certified in family medicine, is a diplomat of the Board of Family Physicians and a member of the Indiana and American Academies of Family Medicine. Although she enjoys all aspects of medicine, Dr. Stookey is especially interested in women's healthcare, exercise, nutrition and preventive medicine. She is an avid runner and scuba diver, and also enjoys weight lifting, traveling, reading, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
