Founded in 1899, Interbake Foods was originally known as the Southern Biscuit Works. In 1939, the company was commissioned to bake Girl Scout cookies and has since risen to produce almost 50 percent of the Girl Scout cookies in the United States, which equates to over 80 million boxes of cookies per year. Interbake has employees in over eight states in the Unites States. A large portion of InterBake s niche is the private label division. The division has maintained its leadership in the category by focusing on expanding its product line to include new specialty cookies that fill gaps in different categories and meet or exceed the quality and appeal of comparable national brands. Interbake Foods is located in Richmond, Va.
