The Indiana Community Action Association, founded in 1970, is a nonprofit corporation that serves low-income families. It serves the collective interests of its community action network through representation, educational programs, training programs, information exchange, advocacy and other support services. Its functions include dissemination of information throughout the Indiana Community Action Network, development of training programs, management of training functions and development of collective positions. The association operates a more than 10,000 square-foot training facility for providing technical training for employees and contractors. The Indiana Community Action Association also offers energy-saving technologies and evaluative procedures to help reduce energy costs. It is based in Indianapolis.
