Hammond High School offers academic classes to more than 1,200 students in grades 8 through 12. The school conducts classes in language arts, math, science, social studies, industrial technology, art, music, world languages, reading and computer technology. Hammond High School has a guidance counseling department that provides information related to various colleges, apprenticeship programs, trade schools, scholarships and college workshops. Established in 1866, the school is a part of the Parish Public School System. Hammond High School s staff is comprised of various teachers, custodians, athletic directors, crisis counselors, campus supervisors, and child welfare, attendance and school resource officers.
