The Garrett-Keyser-Butler Community Head Start Program was started in 1966 as a summer program in the Garrett School District. The Garrett-Keyser-Butler Community Head Start Program currently works to serve more than 100 children. It also serves pregnant women, infants and toddlers and operates classrooms in nearly five locations. The program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (N.A.E.Y.C). The Garrett-Keyser-Butler Community Head Start Program has a dietician who reviews children s nutritional habits and growth patterns, as well as counsels parents on a contractual basis. It additionally offers training to staff and parents and participates in the selection of developmental screening instruments. The program is offered at Garrett, Ind.
