Vanderburgh County Department of Health, located in Evansville, Ind., is a division of the office of Vanderburgh County. The department offers information on communicable diseases, such as sexually transmitted diseases, HIV testing, tuberculosis, refugee health screening, tattoo and body piercing. It also undertakes establishment inspections on communicable disease conditions, and provides a perinatal hepatitis B program, in addition to other programs. The department organization organizes a community dental clinic, as well as oral health educational programs regarding the care of teeth, gums, and other oral cavity tissues. It offers information on environmental health regarding restaurant permits, food-handling practices, pool inspections, septic permits, sewage discharge, trash and debris, rodent activity, mosquito harborages, and air quality information.
