ESGR, or Employer Support-the Guard in Indianapolis, IN, is a Department of Defense office established in 1972 with the mission of promoting cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers. With over 4,500 volunteers serving on ESGR State Committees, the organization maintains employer support programs, provides informative briefings and mediation, and recognizes employers who demonstrate exceptional dedication to employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.
ESGR works to ensure that both Guard and Reserve Service members and their employers are aware of their rights and responsibilities under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). Through their efforts, ESGR fosters a culture of employer support, honoring thousands of employers over the past four decades for their commitment to standing beside those who serve our nation.
