First Baptist Church is a diverse body of believers, committed to following God's call and sharing the love that we have received through Jesus Christ. We come from a variety of backgrounds and social settings, but we find our joy and unity together in celebrating the love of Jesus. We are privileged to be able to serve the Lima area, and we are always delighted to have new people join us for worship or Bible study. The mission of First Baptist is to promote the Kingdom of God according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. We carry out this mission through faithful and engaging worship services, providing opportunities for personal growth through classes and Bible study, creating a safe and nurturing environment for fellowship, and reaching out to the world around us through service projects and mission opportunities. We are a part of the American Baptist Churches, USA. We believe in the centrality of the Bible in guiding daily living, we believe in personal confession of faith expressed through believer's baptism and open communion, and we believe in the autonomy of the local church and the importance of the church to reach out in mission to its community and to the world.
