HistoryThe idea for Westside Music Academy arose from the apparent need for music education on the west side of Indianapolis. Erica Ogden has been teaching piano in Avon since 2013, and has had a full studio for most of that time. Regularly receiving requests for music education from far more students than one person can ever teach, she recognized that this area needs more than a private studio can provide... it needs a music academy.SpecialtiesThe idea for Westside Music Academy arose from the apparent need for music education on the west side of Indianapolis. Regularly receiving requests for music education from far more students than one person can ever teach, she recognized that this area needs more than a private studio can provide... it needs a music academy. Erica and her partners Saundra and Susan will meet that need with Westside Music Academy. Westside Music Academy will open its doors for its first year of lessons beginning with the 2020/2021 school year, starting in August 2020. At opening, our goal is to have five music teachers on staff teaching piano, voice, guitar, strings, woodwinds, music theory, and more. Our students will also have many opportunities to participate in ensembles, chamber music, competitions, live performances, and auditions.
