History
The Carmel Farmers Markets began in 1998 with 9 full-time vendors of strictly Indiana-grown and/or produced food and plant products. Since that time the Market has grown to seventy vendors in the summer. In addition, in 2010 we established a Winter Market that is held indoors. This Market has nearly forty vendors. In 2011 the Summer Market moved from the Carmel City Hall parking lot to Carter Green at the Center for the Performing Arts. That move provided the Market with a space that was perfectly designed to accommodate an open-air Market which draws nearly 100,000 guests each summer season to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, baked goods, eggs, mushrooms, syrups and prepared foods.
