Cathedral High School
Cathedral High School, located in Indianapolis, is a private, Catholic, coeducational college preparatory school that was founded in 1918. It enrolls more than 1,250 students in grades nine through 12. The school s curriculum includes English, fine arts, foreign languages, geography, science and social studies. Additionally, the high school provides honors programs and advanced-placement courses in English language and literature, journalism, calculus, probability and statistics, biology, chemistry, United States history, government and politics. It also provides courses in economics, law and psychology, and SAT and ACT test preparation classes. The school has a library and media center that provides more than 11,000 books, periodicals, online databases, newspapers, laptop computers and audiovisual aids. It also organizes various extracurricular activities, such as music, theater, band and choir. The high school additionally provides various sports activities for its students, such as swimming, lacrosse, basketball, gymnastics and tennis. Cathedral High School is accredited by the Independent Schools Association of the Central States.
