History
The Zen Life & Meditation Center, Chicago has pioneered a user-friendly and down-to-earth spiritual practice of Zen rooted in mindfulness meditation. The style of practice at the Zen Center is secular and accommodates everyone regardless of race, religion, gender, culture or class. The Zen Center is also committed to providing these beneficial teachings to anyone regardless of their economic status, so scholarships are always available for any class, workshop or retreat. For those wishing to take a deeper dive, the Zen Center also has two fully empower Zen teachers who mentor students privately along a Zen spiritual path of training.
Specialties
Zen Life & Meditation Center of Chicago offers a comprehensive core curriculum to empower you to live a Zen-inspired life of openness, empathy and clarity in the face of change and uncertainty. Students begin with our first level, Foundations of Mindfulness classes, 10 classes taught once a week. This series is taught every quarter of the year. Once students have finished this series they may take the second level of classes called the Zen Life series. This is also a 10 class series taught twice a year.
