Gibraltar was founded in 1981 to produce specialty coatings and inks for the general industrial market. Initial efforts were concentrated on a small number of large accounts. Working under confidentiality agreements Gibraltar created an array of original products which found acceptance in this market. In the nineties Gibraltar began to formulate and produce solvent-borne pigment dispersions intended for merchant sales to all comers, large and small. This sector of the Gibraltar product range has expanded rapidly and now contains multiple dispersion lines renowned for their originality and unsurpassed product quality. More recent developments include sub-micron and nano-sized pigment dispersions for the inkjet and specialty printing industries. Novel formulations processed using highly sophisticated techniques yield finished inks having exceptional stability which deliver outstanding printing characteristics. Sited on a ten-acre tract in South Holland, Illinois, Gibraltar ships clear and pigmented compositions to discriminating customers across North America, Europe and Asia. While its current panoply of standard product offerings satisfies a wide variety of customer requirements Gibraltar stands ready to design and produce additional unique compositions not available in the marketplace.
