The Women's Leadership and Resource Center (WLRC) at the University of Illinois Chicago is a Center for Cultural Understanding and Social Change that aims to increase awareness of and affirm the diverse needs of woman-identified persons in higher education. They provide opportunities for learning about feminist movements, activism, and scholarship, with a focus on issues such as white supremacy, ableism, heterosexism, transphobia, and wealth inequality. The WLRC promotes gender equity, anti-violence, inclusion, and social justice on campus and in society.
Through their Campus Advocacy Network (CAN) program, the WLRC offers confidential crisis support and advocacy for survivors of gender-based violence, as well as educational programs, training, campaigns, internships, and community-building initiatives. The WLRC is dedicated to creating a supportive community, providing resources, and empowering individuals to make a positive impact in their lives and the larger society.
