Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 501, based in Aurora, IL, was consolidated into the membership of Pipefitters Local 597 and Plumbers Local 130 in 2013. The organization provided education and training through the Local 501 Education JATC Fund, which was merged into the training funds of the two consolidated locals.
Local 501 also held membership meetings and organized events such as the Local 501 Children's party, where lifetime member Donald Andree and his wife Kathy played the roles of Santa and Mrs. Claus. The former Local 501 Hall is now used as a satellite office and training center by Local 597.
