The Parks and Recreation Department is administered by the town of Normal, Ill. It manages an 18-hole golf course, historically registered theater, community activity center, softball complex and the Children's Discovery Museum. The department also manages a13-mile, hard-surfaced multiuse trail, two outdoor pools and more than 13 parks that encompass over 400 acres of parkland. It additionally provides a selection of programs and special classes for youths, adults and other people. The Parks and Recreation Department maintains the Web-based, WebTrac system, which allows residents to register for activities, view account histories, print receipts and reserve tee times at the Ironwood Golf Course. It conducts swimming and scuba classes, lifeguard training sessions and field trips. The department also offers an eight-week program that introduces participants to various theatrical areas, including, music, makeup, dancing, set design, and play and musical production.
