History
Built in 1914, it's probably Chicago's oldest ice cream parlor & confectionery and still displays the original handsome decorative tin ceiling and hardwood maple floor. It was re-established in 1985 as Polo Nuts and Candy, Etc. and expanded into Polo Cafe and Catering Bridgeport U.S.A. in 1990 offering a 50-seat restaurant and since 1997, it's attached to The Old Eagle Room, also built in 1914 as a neighborhood picture show, and transformed into an elegant banquet center for up to 100 guests, together with lighted parking. This is Polo Cafe's 20th year as a TASTE of Chicago vendor: think Garlic-Mozzarella Cheese Bread, Crab Cake Nuggets, and Shark Veracruz.
