Supreme Lobster & Seafood began supplying live lobsters to the Chicagoland area in 1973. It is now the leading distributor in the Midwest, servicing supermarkets, retail outlets, restaurants, food service operators and other institutions. In addition to lobster, the company distributes a variety of fish species, including farm-raised barramundi; freshwater fish, such as walleye, whitefish, catfish and rainbow trout; and saltwater fish, such as salmon, tuna, swordfish and halibut. The company receives air and truck shipments on a daily basis from fishermen on the Atlantic coast, the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific coast. It also occasionally imports seafood from Asia, Australia, Europe and New Zealand. Supreme Lobster & Seafood distributes more than 3,000 inventory items from its 100,000-square-foot facility in Villa Park, Ill., where it also maintains a retail center. The company also has facilities in Las Vegas and Racine, Wis.
