History
Since our parish was established in 2007, we have been holding Mass in a remodeled barn in Northern Lake County, Illinois. Now, in just under six years, our parish has substantially grown, no longer allowing the barn to be an adequate space for worship. So, with the support of our Archbishop, we developed the historic preservation project of St. Raphael The Archangel Catholic Church. This process entails using the salvaged remains of two closed and deteriorating Chicago churches of classical and sacred architecture, St. John of God and St. Peter Canisius. Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners and friends, we have made great progress in the construction of the new St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. It exists today because of the conviction, talent, generosity, sacrifice and prayer of those who have gone before us and of those today who believe in our mission and support our vision.
