Founded in 1941, St. Edward Central Catholic High School organizes religious activities and offers Catholic education to young girls and boys in grades nine through 12. The high school provides a variety of clubs and organizations, such as a student council, campus ministry, conservation club, science club, speech team, chorus, yearbook club, students against destructive decisions group and class officers. The school s academic curriculum includes various subjects that include theology, world history, mathematics, computer applications, strategic reading and physical science. Students are also offered classes in art, choir, clothing, general business, band, library assistant, speech, music appreciation, and French, German and Spanish. The school employs a professional staff of counselors that helps students with adolescent problems, as well as college admissions, scholarships and financial aid. It is located in Elgin, Ill.
