St. Barnabas Episcopal Church is close enough to Butterfield Road to be accessible to passersby. But it's also tucked far back enough to be its own entity, a tranquil place to worship God. Just outside of the building, the church oversees a memorial garden, filled with wooden benches, an arch and dozens of rectangular plaques emblazoned with the names of loved ones who have passed away. The little nook serves as a peaceful place for remembrance and contemplation. Above all, the church seeks to be a community focused on Jesus Christ, as evidenced by its highest physical point: a cross that points skyward.
