Southern Illinois Regional Social Services (SIRSS), formerly known as Southern Illinois Mental Health Clinic (SIMHC), is a nonprofit community mental health center that has an annual budget of more than $6.3 million. Established in 1960, it provides mental health, substance abuse, and youth and family services to more than 3,000 people every year. Southern Illinois Regional Social Services administers various case management, community housing, crisis intervention, and community and outpatient treatment programs. It also offers community-based recovery and geriatric mental health services. The center is certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Southern Illinois Regional Social Services main office is located in Carbondale, Ill.
