More than 250 children between the ages of three months to six years attend programs at the Seton Montessori School (formerly known as Meca Seton). The Montessori Method emphasizes learning through all five senses and encourages children to learn at their own pace through engaging in activities. It was developed in 1907 by Dr. Maria Montessori, the first female physician in Italy.
The facility also houses the Seton Montessori Institute. The institute was founded in 1965 and certifies teachers, administrators and paraprofessionals in the Montessori Method. It is located five minutes from the Clarendon Hills train station.
