The School Association for Special Education in DuPage County, also known as SASED, is a learning center that features special education services. Operational for more than 50 years, it is comprised of over 15 school districts and provides services to approximately 6,000 students. The institution serves physically challenged children between the ages of 3 and 21, SASED operates Southeast Alternative School, which offers special education classes for students in grades 1 through 12. It also provides speech and vocational training services to more than 100 children with cognitive, physical and medical disabilities. In addition, the institution offers hearing impaired and vision disabilities programs. SASED features the DuPage Juvenile Detention program, which provides educational services to students who are held in correctional facilities. It employs a staff of over 40 personnel who offers training in the areas of positive behavioral and parental skills. The institution additionally provides occupational and physical therapy services to nearly 1,200 students. SASED is located in Naperville, Ill.
