David Hamming, MD
Dr. Mark Hamming is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, including hip arthroscopy and multi-ligament knee surgery. Using minimally invasive techniques that speed recovery and reduce complications, Dr. Hamming treats hip impingement problems, meniscus (knee cartilage) tears, ligament and multi-ligament tears (ACL, FCL, MCL, PCL), rotator cuff and labral tears of the shoulder, and shoulder instability. He completed his fellowship training at the prestigious Steadman Clinic in Vail. He was a team physician for the US Ski Team training for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and has served as team physician for Duke University, as well as several other college and high school basketball, football, lacrosse and soccer teams. A former athlete, Dr. Hamming understands the expectations and challenges of injured athletes. Today, he enjoys swimming, golf and spending time with his wife and young son. He is pleased to join his brother, also an orthopedic physician, in the same office where their father Dr. Edward Hamming practiced, IBJI-Gurnee.
