History
Our Greenhouse began as Ray's Quality Produce in 1962 as a single roadside stand at Ray and Ednas' home. It grew into three stands, one at the house, one at the farm and one at the corner of Sauk Trail and East End Avenue. In the late 1970's, Ray built a small greenhouse on the farm to produce his own vegetable plugs of superior quality. This coincided with the boom of floriculture as a major US industry and Ray and other local farmers joined in the boom. By 1984, greenhouse production became more profitable for Ray and he transitioned into a retail greenhouse, adding greenhouses onto the home property where we have grown into 6 production houses and now operate our retail business. In 2006, Ray and Edna sold the business to their oldest daughter Donna and her husband Sam. Donna and Sam continue to run the business as Ray and Edna developed it - to provide the highest quality product available, at a reasonable price with the best of customer service.
