In 2010, Prairie Elementary was one of 493 schools in the state and 17 in District 203 to earn a place on the Illinois Honor Roll with an Academic Excellence Award for student performance in 2009. Among other criteria, schools are required to have 90 percent of its students meet or exceed state standards in both reading and mathematics for at least three consecutive years. Prairie Elementary's Math Night is also featured in the National Network of Partnership Schools' Math Sampler.
