Packaging Dynamics Corporation laminates and converts paper, film and foil into flexible packaging products for the food service industry, as well as a limited number of industrial markets. The company operates nearly 10 converting facilities. Packaging Dynamics Corporation was acquired in 2006 by Kohlberg & Company, a private investment firm, and merged with Thilmany Packaging. Packaging Dynamics was formed in 1998. The new company has three operating units: BagcraftPapercon, a converter of value-added food packaging products that include a broad line of specialty bag, wrap and sheeted products that serve the restaurant, food service distribution, supermarket and food processor markets; Thilmany Packaging/International Converter, a producer of extrusion and adhesive laminated structures for use in retail, consumer, medical and industrial packaging applications, as well as building materials applications; and Thilmany Papers, which manufactures specialty lightweight paper for packaging, pressure sensitive and technical and industrial applications. It trades on NASDAQ under the symbol PKDY. The company is headquartered in Chicago.
