The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is a full-service law enforcement agency that prevents crime, protects residents lives and their property, apprehends offenders, and maintains peace and order. It is charged with the constitutional and statutory responsibilities of enforcing federal and state laws, as well as local ordinances within the unincorporated areas of the county. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office employs a staff of more than 30 full-time sworn officers. The office is a part of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System. In addition, it is responsible for the service of civil documents by order of the court, such as subpoenas, summonses and judgments. Located in Hillsboro, Ill., the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office also performs duties related to foreclosures, property sales and auctions.
