Founded in 1857 as the Chicago Relief and Aid Society, Metropolitan Family Services is a mental health care organization that offers social and counseling services to more than 55,000 families and individuals annually. It provides case management, violence prevention, and school-based child and youth development services. The organization also offers psychiatric evaluation, medication monitoring, crisis intervention and counseling services. It provides placement, family therapy and guidance services for children of separating parents. Metropolitan Family Services offers employee assistance programs that focus on anger management services and administration consultation for various companies. Additionally, it provides case management and psychological services, as well as legal assistance for issues related to financial exploitation, domestic violence, and physical and sexual abuse. Metropolitan Family Services maintains a presence in Chicago.
