The Lewistown Fire Protection District is a volunteer-based department that provides fire and rescue services, as well as BLS response, to the Lewistown area in Illinois. With approximately 25 dedicated members, the department responds to around 500 calls annually and offers fire prevention programs for local schools, as well as fire safety programs upon request.
In addition, the Lewistown Fire Protection District conducts CPR and First Responder classes for its members and can schedule classes for community members if there is enough interest. The department is also involved in restoring their 1937 Dodge pumper, which was originally purchased new by the district in 1936, and welcomes donations towards this project.
