Leahy Gym and Barbell recently opened with the goal of training candidates interested in a career in the Fire Service. One of the many steps a candidate has to complete in order to begin a career with the Fire Service is to complete the Candidate Physical Agility Test. This physical performance test measures the strength and conditioning levels of anyone interested in becoming a firefighter. This test is an extremely challenging test that involves the candidate wearing a weighted vest throughout a timed course involving intense physical activities. Unfortunately due to the difficult nature of this test, many candidates are unable to continue in their careers when they are unable to complete the test within the required time limit. This is the reason I decided to open Leahy Gym and Barbell. My business is dedicated to helping future firefighters develop what it takes to pass the Candidate Physical Agility Test. This program involves course-specific exercises that are identical to the various stations within the CPAT course. To make the training even more challenging the exercises are combined with a variety of high intensity kettlebell exercises. This combination of test specific exercises and high intensity kettlebell training quickly builds the strength and conditioning necessary to make it through your agility test.
