Behind a set of tall, trimmed bushes is the Lake Zurich Golf Club, or the LZGC, as the sign adjacent to the sidewalk reads. The private nine-hold golf course has survived golfers' divots since 1895, when it was first established. It is tucked away across the street from the north end of the lake and bordered by a sidewalk and homes along North Old Rand Road.
