Lake Street Church of Evanston is a Protestant church that was founded in 1858. Its current Victorian Gothic building was erected in 1875. Its congregation features members of all different races, sexual orientations and religions, with ties in Baptist, Buddhist and Muslim religious communities. The church has several choir and musical groups that perform. It also features summer youth activities and regular yoga sessions. Lake Street Church is also very active in the community, feeding the homeless and offering help to families in need.
