Inter-American Magnet School, also known as IAMS, is one of the oldest, dual-language educational institutions in the Midwestern United States. The school is affiliated with the International Spanish Academy of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Sciences. It provides multicultural, literature-based academic programs for more than 650 students in pre-kindergarten through grade eight. In addition, Inter-American Magnet School features a parent advisory council. The school assists students in attaining proficiency levels in Spanish and English. It additionally operates chess and running clubs and offers transportation solutions for students. The school provides a range of sports activities, such as basketball and soccer. Inter-American Magnet School is governed by Chicago Public Schools, which manages several elementary, middle and high schools.
