Inspiration Corporation, based in Chicago, offers a range of services to the area community. The organization provides services to people who are affected by homelessness and poverty with essential social services that enable them to lead better lives. Established in 1989, Inspiration Corporation is a nonprofit, community-based organization. Each year, the institution assists more than 2,000 individuals who are chronically homeless, unemployed or underemployed, and struggling with mental illness, substance use disorders and social isolation. Its Inspiration Cafe and The Living Room Cafe serve meals in a restaurant-style setting and provide supportive services in a therapeutic community. The institution s also offers The Employment Project that offers case management, pre-employment training, employer outreach, and job placement and retention services throughout Chicago. It also offers a free, 24-hour voice mail number for homeless and low-income individuals. Additionally, it offers a housing locator, rent subsidies and social services to help program participants find and maintain permanent housing.
